HGUC 1/144 MSN-04 Sazabi
First and foremost, I would like to give lots and lots of credit to Z Fudoshin for his nice reviews on both 1/100 MG Sazabi and this 1/144 HGUC Sazabi.
Prior to reading that review, I've been craving to own 1/100 MG Sazabi ever since I watched the DVD movie of Char's Counter Attack last year. However, somehow, 1/100 MG Sinanju came and caught my eyes so on February 2009 I get my self Sinanju kits first.
Then again, after observing the design of Sinanju, it reminds me further about the Sazabi and I keep on dreaming to get this Sazabi, the only thing that hold me back is the price and the shipment cost (as I usually buy GunPla kits direct from Hobby Link Japan).
At 8,000 yen that 1/100 MG Sazabi easily the most expensive normal MG kits and so far now the 1/100 MG Shin Musha Gundam Sengoku no Jin is the other most expensive normal MG kits. If you want the not normal type, there are other expensive 1/100 MG kits of coz like those 1/100 MG MSN-04 Sazabi Metallic Coating Version or 1/100 MG Nu Gundam Metallic Coating and also the 1/100 MG Strike Freedom Gundam Extra Finish Version. Maybe there are others that I don't know, please feel free to share with us about it in the ChatBox.
So once again, many many thanks to the rich and more expert Z Fudoshin.
MSN-04 Sazabi is designed by Yutaka Izubuchi.

I started at 8.00pm and 30 minutes later I managed to finish the body part...
Feels like working on an MG kits.... gosh... this is a lot... but for sure the assembly process is quite easy - typical HG...
Just like the Nu Gundam, the neck part of this Sazabi is quite modern and very nice, it allows lots of movement on that area...
At 9.00pm, I managed to finished all these...
The joint on the elbow... quite details...
The connectivity on the shoulder parts is interesting as well...
After that I continue on the leg part, see here, the inner part hidden inside the leg, very nice...
So at 10.00pm, I reached into this stage...
The joint on the knee... again, I would say I'm so happy with the details... this is just a HG kits OK...
And now on the skirt part...
And the backpack...
The Funnels...
So at 11.45pm, I finally managed to finish them all... 3 hours and 45 minutes... it took me 4 hours and 15 minutes to assembled the Nu Gundam.
All the weapons and extra stuff... 2 beam saber, 2 extra hands, 6 extra funnels for action display (don't worry I will try my best to show this next time, maybe I will borrow those parts from Strike Freedom again - which is now used by the Providence Gundam). The beam tomahawk I attached it on the shield. We'll see that later...
MSN-04 Sazabi... in my opinion, for such a big monster, the head is a little too small though...
Rear view...
Height comparison with the already quite tall RX-93 Nu Gundam.
Basically Sazabi is quite tall for a HGUC kits... and I guess maybe the tallest now in this series... for sure this Sazabi is the tallest/biggest 1/144 HG kits in Shewsbury Land so far...
Height/size comparison with 1/144 HG Infinite Justice... the pinky MS only reached half the body of Sazabi.
Height/size comparison with 1/144 HGUC Zaku II Char Aznable...
Height/size comparison with 1/100 MG Zaku II Char Aznable... gosh, almost the same size, so the MG 1/100 Sazabi must be as tall as Sinanju or maybe a little taller than that... I fon't have the MG so I can't make that comparison...
Height/size comparison with 1/100 MG Sword Strike Gundam...
OK, let's have a look at the body again...
Small little head/face...
That yellow thing on the torso is actually a Mega Particle Cannon... so it can shoot the enemy from there (just like that Strike Freedom ZGMF-X20A)...
That insignia of Char Aznable on the skirt is just a sticker, again I'm glad that I didn't spoil it...
Quite a big foot/shoes... remind me of that shoes of Sora... but I guess this is necessary to support the gigantic body of this Sazabi...
That 2 black things hanging at the back... I'm not sure what is it, but I guess it is some sort of stabilizer rod for use in space atmosphere... the Hi Nu Gundam and Sinanju also have the same thing....
The funnels contena.... so nice that you can close and open it up...
The shield, very huge, very nice...
The other side of it... there you can see I attached the tomahawk axe on it..
Not really sure what is this, maybe mini missile launcher or some sort guns...
The handle for the shield... very effective... the shield will stick firmly and wont fall down easily... very useful when u want to do some posing...
OK, let's see a little actions...
If there is anything that I want to do with this model, other than more photo session with more pose.... that would be painting it... but I don't have the paintbrush machine and not even the Tamiya color spray... and even if I can buy both of them... my poor skill will surely destroy this kit...
That's all for now, you can continue and read the Part 2 of this Sazabi review

The two things hanging below the backpack is the fuel tanks, as the Sazabi is a space use only unit. The tanks can be detach upon empty (just like in the final moments of the OVA, when he was chasing Amuro into Axis).
ReplyDeleteThanks for your answer bro... after many years now, I finally know what is that thing at the back...
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, I really appreciate your input.
So far, only Perfect Zeong is the most expensive regular MG model, since Shin Musha Gundam Sengoku no Jin doesn't count as a regular release (it's a premium release just like the MG Exia Ignition mode, MG Strike Freedom FBM and MG Destiny EBM etc). Other metallic releases include the Titanium Finish versions of the overpriced MG Unicorn Gundam Ver. Ka and similarly overpriced Sinanju Ver. Ka.
