Some "Figma Surgery"

Last night I decided to do some "surgery" on Figma figures.

The objective is to modified the Figma Doala neck so that I can attached other Figma's head into it's body. I also removed the "tail" of the Doala.

This Figma Doala I got from Hobby Link Japan at a discounted price of 714 yen.

At the price I don't mind to get this Figma for the sake of getting it's body and accessories.

OK, this is the Figma body that I messed around with...





The Figma Doala head were also ruined by me...





I take the neck part from the other Figma body and "super glue" it into the Figma Doala body.





As always, Tsukasa will be the 1st to try anything new... well, eventually I wanted to do this so that Tsukasa can get a new clothing set... the school uniform is getting more and more dirty now.




And I also try it on Kyon and few other Figma....

Apparently Shana and Seto have problem with it... maybe because of the long hair design...



Surprisingly Konata is OK with it...

OK, let's see Tsukasa trying out some posing with this "new uniform"





These are some of the extra spare parts that I can keep for future use...




By the way... you have to be very careful with your Figma joints specially the one on the shoulder part.




That white part is actually planted inside the shoulder part... the joint can break apart if you're not careful enough or if you treat your Figma roughly and sometimes even if the Figma fall down from a high place maybe it can also caused some damages.

If that joint part broke... you can't use Super Glue to fix it... I learned that the hard way...

So please treat your Figma with respect and sensible manner.




If you ever thinking to swap the hand for whatever reason, also be careful with it... you have to slowy disconnected one part from another... if you rush, there is chances that something will break also...




So I hope that can give you some tips about the Figma joint on the shoulder and arm/elbow.

By the way, when I was uploading this post, I saw an e-mail from HLJ telling me that my pre-order items the Figma Signum has been sent out today AND the stock status in HLJ is now immediately "Discontinued" - is this for real?

That aside, this is the complication about pre-order item... you may know when they release it but you don't know exactly when will they're ready to sent it to you. End up you pay the shipment for that 1 item only. I personally dislike this because if I want to buy anything online, I will buy more than 1 item to compensate the shipping charges.
