Revoltech Dante (Devil May Cry)
This is Revoltech Dante from the popular game Devil May Cry which I never have the chance or interest to played as I love to stick with my favorite (old) Suikoden games.
Nonetheless, looks can be deceiving sometimes... at first I was excited and then later I'm a little disappointed but at the end that's life, win some lose some...
For 1,900 yen (before shipment charges) this is not an expensive action figures and by trusting that Revoltech can do great products with their popular Revoltech Joint System but this particular item however, I'm a little disappointed with it.
Apart from the great looks, it's quite challenging to do action pose - specially with the way the design the arms and legs...
The box...
Out of the box...
Shot gun and another 2 guns plus an extra head.
The sword and the guitar that can be an axe or something...
And of coz the Revoltech action base/display stand...
This is the part that I don't like... the joint on this part loose easily... furthermore if you wanted to pose or move the arm you have to actually twist it and that is when it can detached itself easily from the connector...
And this hand joint system... quite strange I think... but I guess they have to use this design to comply with the arm design... this hand part also can easily detached itself from the connector while you actually twisted it for posing purpose...
Another thing that I don't like is that right legs... why they make it not as straight as the left leg... remind me of those previous Star Wars figurines made by Kenners in the 80's and 90's I think...
I have to admit, nice shoe he got down there...
OK, let's look around the figurine's body...
That back side of the jacket can be lifted up....
Like this...
It's guitar time...
And now that guitar become like an axe... a huge one...
The sword details is quite nice...
The 2 guns or pistols...
And of coz the shot gun...
I don't really play a lot with this Dante so that is all the photo I got for him.
If you're a fan of Devil May Cry franchise, you would want this for sure... otherwise, I think it's OK to skip this.
This thing is still posable but then again it's quite challenging to do so... at least for me.
As for us, we bought this partly because of experimental reason and also we actually love the looks and that's about it.

seems that you are not familiar with revoltech joints, i suppose? for the knee joint problem, you can just take out the revolver joints, make sureboth sides of the joints are inserted at the same angle, then it will be symmetrical. try and see la. I've collected almost 20 revoltechs, my second biggest collection beside gunpla :D
ReplyDeleteThanx Mike... yeah, I am more familiar with Figma... apparently this Dante is one of those few first edition of the Revoltech.... thanx for the tips... will try it later..
