Lowerpro Outback 100 - Camera Bag
Receive this birthday gift of mine from my beloved twins...
This is Lowerpro Outback 100, a very modern modular beltpack/shoulder bag with 2 lens cases. Very lightweight and flexible and quite fun to use.
We never review any bag before so it's always good to try one... so let's have a look at this Outback 100.
The bag comes with Lowerpro cards telling you about all the features of this bag with some pictures on it... quite informative...
The outer fabric are made of 600D Nylon PU, 210D Nylon PU, Nylon Webbing, Polypropylene Webbing and Velex PU.
While the interior fabric are made of 210D Nylon PU, Velex PU, PE Foam, EVA Foam, Brushed Tricot and Nylon.
Looking at the space inside...
Memory card slot... you can use it to put some condoms as well... sweet...
On the main compartment is where people usually put their camera with a standard size lens attached, longer zoom or bigger size lens may not fit but if you have all those mega size professional items (bigger camera and bigger lens) you may consider Lowerpro Outback 200 or 300 maybe - it offers bigger space and size...
As always nowadays, the brand and the company is from America, Europe or where ever but the production factory is always either in China, Vietnam, Thailand or Indonesia.... this particular one that we review is made in Vietnam... globalization and all those stuff...
This model provide 2 lens pouches - on each side of the main compartment. The lens pouches able to fit most standard size lens... as I said earlier, if you have all those mega size professional (bigger camera and bigger lens) items you may consider Lowerpro Outback 200 or 300 maybe - it offers bigger space and size...
You can separate the pouches from the main compartment accordingly which is good because if you just carry 1 lens with you, you can decide to remove the other pouches or you can still bring out both if you want it - some people might use the space to put something else like a bottle of small size mineral water and surely lots of condoms can fit into that pouches...
1 features that I love the most on the pouches is the attachment method to the main compartment using "Slip Lock" loops and further secured with sturdy, yet lightweight compression straps. You can just easily attached this pouches on your belt....
I now try to put my Fujifilm HS10 into this bag and see how it goes....
Well, it fits perfectly....
I don't really have any extra storage card but for fun sake, I took out my Kingston SDHC 8GB storage card from my Fujifilm HS10 and try to put it into the slot provided...
Since now I am using the Fujifilm HS10 - a super zoom bridge digicam, I don't have to carry any extra lens with me but in the future if I bought another DSLR camera, I might be carrying extra lens with me again so the pouches are quite useful. At the moment, I can use the space to put in some Figma or figures or Gundams or any other toys and camera accessories as well... and always, Baby Tsukasa want to be the first to try it....
For most Figma, I think you can put up to maximum 3 units in there...
For SH Figuarts - at the moment we only have mostly from those Kamen Rider series.. you can put 2 but maybe if you don't mind to "sardinize" them maybe you can try to put 3...
I tried HGUC Gundam Unicorn NTD-Mode at 1/144 scale and basically he can't make it in there...
I think this is because HGUC Gundam Unicorn NTD-Mode is quite tall even for a HG in 1/144 scale... other 1/144 scale GunPla from UC timeline should have no problem to fit into the lens pouches. This also means 1/100 MG GunPlas can't fit into the lens pouches.
Though he have no problem to be at the main compartment....
I also try those 1/100 scale Gundam on the main compartment... here is the 1/100 HG Strike Gundam...
No problem to fit into the main compartment though if you consider to put the "Striker Pack" together in there you might need to think and do some testing first... for most Gundams from UC time line I believe they don't have any problem at all to be in the main compartment.
Even models like Destiny Gundam (without the wing part) can easily go in despite having that long thingy on his shoulder...
Overall we are quite pleased with this Lowerpro Outback 100 - nothing to complain about, it's a good bag with reasonable price and can be used not only for camera/photography items but also for other special and unique purpose as well.
The price in the internet is somewhere around USD 50.00 so I guess the local price here should be below SGD 100.00 - I got it for free though....
