Cosmic Region Providence Gundam
This is basically the continuation of the previous review Cosmic Region Legend Gundam and if you haven't read it already, click here, before you proceed with this review. Otherwise, please go on and continue with this;
The process to convert Legend Gundam into Providence Gundam is very easy and quite fun...
Basically, you just remove the whole upper body part of Legend from the torso/waist part, and replace it with the upper body part of Providence...
These are all the parts for Providence Gundam
You need to attached the skirt armor (of coz earlier you need to remove the skirt armor of Legend)
And a little bit of parts replacement on both side of the legs...
And that's about it... you are done and now happily enjoy the Providence Gundam...
Articulation on the leg part is basically the same as they're sharing the same legs anyway.... articulation on the arms is also quite the same and we are quite happy with it...
I skipped the articulation test photos and now we just directly see the nice detailed marking all over the body...
Just like Legend my only complain is obviously on the head part but at least on this Providence, the neck part is quite OK but then again I think the front helmet part it is not made properly and the overall face composition doesn't seems quite right - if I have to give evaluation points, I would say it is "below average"... try see this photo below... I hope you can understand what I mean...
Other than that I have no further complains... the rest is just typical GFF standard plus and minus point but since this unit is all but firm, sturdy, fit and stable and no annoyance from lousy and loose falling armors and parts)... I think I am more than happy and can forget all those minus points easily...
The GFF Stance or Katoki Stance as they said.... looking great by just standing there...
Some action pose with all the weapons and armaments on the action base/display stand...
The prominent Judicium beam rifle...
The MA-MV05A Composite Armed Shield System that can produce beam saber plus 2 units of small beam gun, mounted over left arm...
Providence seems to look more intimidating to me.... maybe because the pilot is Raww Le Klueze... probably one of the best and the most notorious villains in Cosmic Era...
Can you guess in which episode of Gundam Seed anime where you can see something almost similar scene like in this photo?
This is the part where the Providence slaughter the Strike with "overkill" amount of devastating attacks using that deadly DRAGOON system and there is nothing Mu La Flaga can do about it... even worse not long after that he "sacrificed" himself and the badly damaged Strike to save Archangel... that part is really sad...
Talking about Providence, this is what happen to my 1/100 Nix Providence Gundam now... I think I prefer to have that DRAGOON contena on the back...
The GFF Providence side by side with my 1/100 HG Providence Gundam...
I personally love Providence more than the Legend - both of them originally designed by Okawara Kunio. However, at the end of the day I will display this unit as Legend Gundam since I already have the Providence plus the Nix Providence. Well, maybe if I get bored, next time I can just swap all the parts and make it become Providence again...
At 4,500 yen (about SGD 70.00 / NZD 70.00 / AUD 56.00 / USD 50.00) normal retail price in HLJ before adding whatever shipment charges there is, this is not cheap and as I said in many of the previous review of our GFF and also GFFN, this particular toy/figure series from Bandai is most of the times are only intended for the serious or hardcore collectors of Gundam who love the great details and marking and all the extra accessories.
At the same time one must also be prepared to cope with all the weaknesses and issues that comes with it - not so great articulation ability, some factory errors on painting job here and there randomly and sometimes lousy or loose parts and armor that can be very annoying. This is nonetheless is quite random as well, sometimes you do get a good one.
We are so lucky this time around to get the good one... for the first time in fact and thus we are very happy and proud with it.
The last time that we have great times with completed Gundam figures from Bandai is when we reviewed the GFFN Aile Strike Gundam - but then again GFFN is on a different level and price points if compared to normal GFF like this.
Usually when we reviewed the GFF, we always just want to get over it and do it quickly but this time around, we really enjoy it so much and play a lot with it during our review and photography session.
There is no guarantee that the other GFF can be as good as this although naturally in fact they should've been as good as this... it's all about luck. For sure even with such uncertainties, it wont stop us in Shewsbury Land from getting more GFF, GFFN or maybe the GFFMC in the future.
We believe in Bandai and surely there are still plenty of good GFF out there, we just need to try them.
At the end when you have this item, it is only for display with that GFF stance standing pose. It looks great and beautiful by just standing there.
