This plastic model kit features selectable blue and purple LEDs in the base so you can light it up depending on your mood. Stands 26.4cm when assembled. The base with the LED and electronics is pre-assembled. A snap-together kit, with no glue required. Requires 3 AAA batteries, sold separately.

The Tokyo Sky Tree (東京スカイツリー Tōkyō Sukai Tsurī), formerly known as New Tokyo Tower (新東京タワー Shin Tōkyō Tawā?), is a broadcasting, restaurant and observation tower under construction in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. It has been the tallest artificial structure in Japan since 2010. The tower reached its full height of 634.0 metres (2,080 ft) in March 2011 but will not be finished until at least late 2011.

The project is being led by Tobu Railway and a group of six terrestrial broadcasters (headed by public broadcaster NHK). Construction of the tower is scheduled to be completed by December 2011, with the public opening on 22 May 2012. The completed structure will be the centrepiece of a massive commercial development located equidistant from Narihirabashi Station and Oshiage Station.

One of Tokyo Sky Tree's main purposes is as a television and radio broadcasting tower. Tokyo's current broadcasting tower, Tokyo Tower, is at 333 m (1,093 ft), and is no longer tall enough to give complete digital terrestrial television broadcasting coverage because it is surrounded by many high-rise buildings.

The Tokyo Sky Tree is currently the tallest tower in the world. It is taller than Canton Tower (600 m (1,969 ft)); the tallest structure on an island, taller than Taipei 101; and the second tallest structure in the world, after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

I'm not a great modeler, just a typical amateur hobbyist, but somehow I managed to finished this kit within 40 minutes only - that means this kit is pretty easy though you need to be very careful with the cutting technique.

The main gimmicks on this model is "surprise!!!!" - lightning gimmicks!!! LOL - like you can't guess it already.... LOL


This is the "Light Mode 1" - completely in the dark situation, this is how it looks like;





The LED is indeed quite bright though I think the new battery is another factor to that - try using some old used batteries - probably the brightness will not be the same.....

As a suggestion for display, you can consider to put this model on the "AutoArt Rotary Display Stand" like this;





So you can see it spinning like in this video - just ignore the background music, I was listening to the music for relaxation purpose while recording the video. The music has nothing to do with this model kit or Bandai (the maker) or Tokyo Sky Tree at all;

This 1/2400 Tokyo Sky Tree is quite tall indeed, in the photo below, you can see how tall it is if compared to the 1/100 MG Shin Musha Gundam, 1/144 GFFN Aile Strike Gundam, Figma Saber and SH Figuarts Shadow Moon;







Overall, this is a very fun and simple kit to work with both for beginners or advance modeler of plastic model kit. No glue or paint required but of course you can always use your sexual creativity and do more detailing work on it if you like to do so.

The published price in HLJ is 1,920 yen (about SGD 29.50 / USD 24.00) before adding shipment charges and I think it's a very attractive price for such a brilliant model kit.

You can use this item as office desktop decoration or as one of your usual decoration within your room or house.

You don't have to go to Japan to touch the Tokyo Sky Tree - you can have it in your room now!!!! LOL...
