Maisto Elite Transport - Coe Flatbed & 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air - Part 2 of 2

Moving on, now it's time for us to look at this "1957 Chevrolet Bel Air".

The 1957 Bel Air is among the most recognizable American cars of all time; well-maintained examples, especially Sport Coupes and Convertibles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. They are roomy, fuel-efficient, with tastefully restrained, period use tail fins and chrome.

A closer look on the main features of this model.... unlike some other models from "Maisto Custom Shop" series like Chevrolet Nomad and Chevrolet Camaro for example, there is no openable engine hood gimmick on this one. However, we still get the nice decals;







And those nice looking classic wheels;






And now let's look at the interior... but first this is how it looks like down below;

Apart from the chrome steering wheel, all the rest are molded in black, so I decided to do some simple and quick detailing job and this is the result;






Not sure why, but on this particular model, I don't want the chrome steering wheel and instead I want it to be red....






And that's all about it.... not more not less....






Overall, I am really happy with the nice finishing job the Maisto did on this particular stock. I knew that sometimes it's hard to get perfection on a standard mass produce item like this but on this particular one, I would say it is almost reach the perfect label and that is quite an achievement - or rather random achievement LOL....


I don't want to do any further color changes on this particular car, it is already nice as it is. Perhaps the only minor thing I will do is to use a red marker and "make" the break lights to appear somewhere on top of the fin as you can see from the picture below;

Once that done, I would say then that this is now perfect!!!

Probably due to the glossy black color scheme Maisto choose on this car, it's hard to spot any scratch or dented or error or anything alike. What ever it is, I don't care but I like the idea and I like the result.


As a 2 in 1 sales package... although at first I hesitate but after I review the items, I think it's a good strategy of variation from Maisto (and good sales strategy as well). They work hard to produce a good result in matching the colors and decals on both the car and the truck which make it more attractive.

At the price of SGD 14.90 price tag (about USD 11.60 / 900 yen), I personally fell that this is a good value for money and in fact it compensate my earlier hesitation about the product since I actually only interested with the "1957 Chevrolet Bel Air". I think that if Maisto happen sell the truck separately, you can imagine how the result will be... the car is obviously the main attention grabber and in this case, the main purchase reason that simply worth it!!!!
