1/43 Aizu Shakugan no Shana II - Toyota Soarer

This is another fascinating 1/43 scale die cast car with "Itasha" decals of Shakugan no Shana II (from the anime of the same name) co-produced by Aizu and Kyosho (in a way) with permission from Toyota Motor Corporation.

The die cast car is made by Kyosho but the final finishing including that decals arrangement and packaging is handled by Aizu.... that's how it works..

Apparently, this is limited edition, only 672 pieces were made.....

Let's have a look at the box/packaging of this item;

And now, finally out of the box;

This item comes with a nice acrylic display case and base;

Toyota Soarer was a personal luxury GT coupé sold by Toyota in Japan from 1981 to 2005. It débuted with the Z10 series, replacing the Mark II Coupe, and took the form of an angular two-door coupé. In 1986, the Z20 series was launched, based on the then new A70 Supra platform. In 1991, the third generation (Z30 series) Toyota Soarer premiered in Japan, while its Lexus equivalent, the SC 300/400 débuted in the US market.

While externally identical to the Lexus SC, the Z30 series Soarer lineup offered different powertrain specifications and multiple unique vehicle configurations. In 2001, Toyota introduced a convertible-only successor which appeared in Japan as the fourth generation (Z40 series) Toyota Soarer, and elsewhere as the Lexus SC 430. In contrast to previous series, the fourth generation Soarer and Lexus SC were based on a single model and were largely equivalent. In 2005, following the introduction of Lexus in Japan, the Soarer name and emblem were discontinued and the Z40 became the Lexus SC 430 in common with worldwide markets.All versions of the Soarer featured a unique winged lion emblem (often mistakenly called a Griffin) as the logo throughout the vehicle.

OK, let's have a look at the car now;

As expected from Kyoso, the exterior details is brilliant..... the decal finishing and by Aizu is quite gorgeous too..... Let's have a close look at all those decals;

This is how it looks like on the under side, the exhaust pipe details is quite nice;

Now, let's have a look at the interior detailing;

Not sure what your opinion about the interior detailing, but I don't care anyway LOL.... I believe that the interior detailing is quite brilliant.... again, well done to Kyosho for their great effort.

Overall, this is a brilliant 1/43 scale die cast car model for Toyota Soarer Z30 series. Even if you dislike those anime or "itasha" decals stuff, you cannot deny the fact that the exterior detailing is quite brilliant and the interior detailing is pretty nice too. I have no complains what so ever apart from high admiration to the finished model.

All our collection from this special Aizu project series - the Subaru Imprezza WRX STi, Toyota Soarer Z30 and Mazda RX-7 Efini - apparently the RX-7 is the heaviest amongst the 3 of them;

Together with our other 1/43 scale car model collection;

  1. WOW !!!... seriously Kyosho is a valuable diecast brand and is the first time i saw a 1/43 scale model (i’m used to 1/64 scale)... nicely detailed (that’s what you can expect from a bigger scale replica) and very realistic, the itasha decor is pretty fine for me although i would change some details in the design (i’m a graphic designer, you know...) and the acrylic urn makes a great complement... the only two things i miss here are: a metal chassis and an openable hood or doors, but is a minor issue i guess... very interesting 1/43 scale collection i must say !!!... =O

    by the way i’m managing to get a 1/64 scale Kyosho diecast just for fun =)
