Bburago - Ferrari 599 GTO

This is a die cast scale model of Ferrari 599 GTO produced under licensed from Ferrari by Bburago.

The Ferrari 599 (internal code F141) is an Italian sports car produced by Ferrari. It was the brand's two-seat flagship, replacing the 575M Maranello in 2006 as a 2007 model, but was replaced for the 2013 model year by the F12 Berlinetta. Styled by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari's Frank Stephenson, the 599 GTB debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in February 2006. It is named for its total engine displacement (5999 cc), Gran Turismo (in English it's Grand Tourer - a performance and luxury automobile capable of high speed and spirited long-distance driving) Berlinetta (in English - sporty form of coupé. Typically a two-seater, the type may include 2+2s. The original meaning for berlinetta in Italian is “little saloon”) nature and the Fiorano Circuit test track used by Ferrari.

The Tipo F140 C 6.0 L (5999 cc) V12 engine produces a maximum 620 PS (456 kW; 612 hp), making it the most powerful series production Ferrari road car of the time. Its 608 N·m (448 ft·lbf) of torque was also a record for Ferrari's GT cars.

In 2010, Ferrari announced official details of the 599 GTO. At the time Ferrari claimed that the 599 GTO was their fastest ever road car, able to lap the Fiorano test circuit in 1 minute 24 seconds, one second faster than the Ferrari Enzo. Its engine produces 670 PS (493 kW; 661 bhp) at 8250 rpm, with 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) of torque at 6500 rpm. Ferrari claims the 599 GTO can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 335 km/h (208 mph) At 1,605 kilograms (3,538 lb), the 599 GTO weighs almost 100 kg (220 lb) less than the standard GTB. Production is limited to 599 cars. Of these, approximately 125 were produced for the United States market. Ferrari has given only two other models that used the GTO designation: the 1962 250 GTO and the 1984 288 GTO. Unlike the previous GTOs however, the 599 GTO was not designed for homologation in any racing series.

The packaging:

Each packet seems to come with their own serial numbers, telling you that you are buying an original licensed merchandise or something like that and you should be proud of it.

Out of the packaging:

I think Bburago did a good job with the casting, painting and the finishing. The quality is good, at least for me and I don't have much complain apart though I think the paint seems to be a little thicker to my liking but it's not something that is really bad.

The use sticker for the front lights and it's quite nicely done and we can see the Ferrari logo there accordingly as well. All is good. The wheels detailing, is typical of Bburago, I get used to it now, it's not great but somehow I believe it is still better than those offered by the regular series from Tomica of Takara Tomy.

The interior detailing for this scale is very good too, it's not the typical minimalist that we always get from the regular Hot Wheels series of those days but then again considering the local price of this item which MYR 25.00 (about USD 5.90 / EUR 5.30 / JPY 612) I do expecting a better interior than those from Hot Wheels.

Overall, I think this is a very good representation of Ferrari 599 GTO from Bburago, I don't have much complain about it, everything is as good as it should be, if anything, I would personally prefer if the roof to also comes in red color instead of this grey but then again I think Bburago followed the actual color variation of the actual car and so be it...
